A Celebration Of Life?! I'd Toast To That!

The past few weeks have been a roller coaster of emotions. In the midst of a global pandemic and police brutality, happiness wasn’t exactly the salient emotion regarding my upcoming birthday. But, to my rescue, came my ancestors who whispered songs of love reminding me of the gift of life and that celebrating myself is a radical act of self-love. I want to scream today that I am thankful for this gift. Life. My life. 18 months ago I underwent open-heart surgery that served as a reawakening of cosmic proportions - a recalibration that continuously encourages me to indulge in the present. Fast forward to this moment and I am confidently riding out and surviving a pandemic in Uganda. My heart is filled with gratitude, my mind still processing all the wonders of God in my life. To say that I am thankful for today will be an understatement. Indeed, God has been so good! Happy birthday Dear Linda. I love you dearly. Cheers to more life!
